Vegetables for vegetarians

New Zealand grown vegetables are very suitable for including in vegetarian diets.

There are three main types of vegetarian diets:

  • vegans who eat only plant foods, such as vegetables

  • lacto-vegetarians who eat plant foods, milk and milk products

  • lacto-ovoplant vegetarians who eat plant foods, milk and milk products, and eggs
