For a different mash try celeriac - it's delicious.
1-2 celeriac, peeled and diced
1-2 Tbsp olive oil
white pepper, to taste
½ spring onion, sliced
Place celeriac in cold water in a heavy-based saucepan.
Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until celeriac is soft.
Drain, and mash with oil, salt and pepper.
Place in serving dish and serve sprinkled with spring onion.
