Steamed Kale

When preparing kale for salads or cooking, remember to slice out the tough stalks. Slice the stalks and use in stocks and soups.

Steamed Kale


Serves 3-4

3-4 stems kale, washed, stems removed, and leaves sliced
lemon zest for garnish.


Choose a saucepan with a steamer.
Half fill the saucepan with water and bring to the boil.
Place kale in the steamer making sure it does do not touch the water.
Cover and lower the heat to a steady simmer.
Cook for 3-5 minutes until kale is wilting.
Serve, garnished with lemon zest.
