Vegetables for the mind and body poster updated

Veg for mind and body small has released an updated version of its Vegetables for your mind and body poster. This popular resource is widely used by teachers and health promoters. It can be downloaded from here.

The Nutrition Foundation of New Zealand answers this question on supplements:

"I see so many supplements for sale, do I need to be taking them, and which ones?"

If you eat a healthy, balanced diet this should cover all your vitamin and mineral needs. The beauty of food is that it contains many other compounds which work together with the vitamins and minerals for health – compounds such as antioxidants, fibre and phytochemicals. A supplement only provides a large amount of a single vitamin or mineral. Many studies have shown these high doses do not work as effectively as getting the vitamin or mineral from foods.
