Simmered gai lan with oyster sauce
Quick, easy and delicious.
1 Tbsp canola oil
500g gai lan, washed and trimmed
1 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce
⅓ cup water
1 tsp sugar
Fill a large heavy-based saucepan half way with water and bring to the boil over a high heat.
Add oil and gai lan and simmer over a medium heat for 5-8 minutes or until tender. Drain and keep hot.
Place oyster sauce, soy sauce, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a quick boil, turn heat down to simmer and stir constantly.
Place gai lan on a serving plate, drizzle oyster sauce over and serve.
